The public lands of Montana are just that--for utilization and enjoyment by the public. As a result of the recent government shutdown, much of the federal land that is open to public access has been shut down and barricaded off, preventing Montanans from accessing the land the lies within the boundaries of their own state.
Open Montana's Parks
Instead of allowing the U.S. Secretary of Interior to exert jurisdiction over lands that are clearly the responsibility of the State of Montana, we need to encourage the use of Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks resources, along with those available from the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, to reopen these lands to the public.
Please join us in encouraging Governor Bullock to reconsider his position on this issue and contact the Secretary of the Interior to request that Montana's land be unlocked. Click here to send us an email and indicate that you would like to sign on to this effort.
